Lots of boys at the Stoots'

We had lots of Star Wars action at our house last night & today. We had 4, yes 4 boys!! Both Ted & Trent stayed the night and had lots of fun! I ended up going to eat at O'Charley's with Christine (the boys' mom), Lauren (their sister) and Nanny (their grandmother) and then we went to the mall. Poor Kevin had all 4 for a few hours! They played lots of Star Wars- both men & on the Wii!!

Connor & Trent playing with light sabers! Trent was SO serious here!

Ted & Myles mostly played the Wii!!!

Fun baseball practice

Myles had baseball practice this afternoon from 3-5. It really ended about 5:20, and it was a really great practice! Tomorrow he has practice again from 3-5, but this practice will be on the actual field. The coaches have Myles playing 1st base, which is quite funny to us since Myles is so tiny (of course he is the smallest player on the team) , but he actually doing very well!!!! He loves it. He makes a good first baseman because this kid has a ton of heart & hustles every play! Connor got to practice today too. The coaches let him play next to Myles, & he even got to hit. Unfortunately my camera battery died by that time:(

Does he catch it? Of course! Playing catch with daddy before practice starts.

Serious Myles!

I love, love, love this picture of Connor. His eyes were closed as he was trying to catch a fly ball from Kevin!!!!

Uh-oh, what is Kevin going to do? Myles is throwing a baseball to him & Connor is kicking the soccer ball to him. All at the same time!

Mid-practice Gatorade break!

Having to help pick up balls during batting practice. Even Connor pitched in!

Getting ready for the big hit. Myles hit the ball very well especially since this is his first time playing "coach pitch". He really loves it! Both of the coaches are great & seem to have a vast amount of knowledge about the game Myles loves so dearly!

Game Day 2008

As you can see, the Stoots' boys are all ready for Game Day 2008!!! We're all hanging out watching the game on ESPN and are thankfully that the game is on national television!! We're really looking forward to the Saturday game that we'll be attending. Go Hokies Go!!

The boys are all ready!!!

As I am writing this, the Hokies sure are playing some great football. One interception & one fumble recovery on special teams!!! Keep it up Hokies!

Kevin's "Kodak" moment!

Last night Kevin was asking where the camera was because he had a found "Kodak" moment! Of course I went right with him to see what it was, and this is what I found. Isn't this just the sweetest thing? We had gone to Ted's football scrimmage yesterday and it wore the boys out before they could get a bath. Looks like they'll be hitting the shower with daddy this morning!

Sleeping in Connor's room!

Best friends!

Fall ball here we come!!!

Since Myles decided this year not to play soccer and instead play fall baseball, we thought it would be a good time to purchase a new glove. We went to the local sporting store, David Bowen's, and tried on lots of nice gloves. About a half an hour later, we left with a new Mizuno glove that cost a pretty penny! The new glove will last a good while so we'll be getting our moneys worth!!!

Myles had his first practice last night & unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I left my camera at the office. The coaches seem really nice & very well informed. They stressed how fall ball is not competitive at all & that it's very instructional, which is exactly what we wanted! Since Myles is moving to coach pitch in the spring, fall ball is giving him a chance to practice batting without the tee!!! Our next practice is Sunday afternoon, but if Gustav heads our way, I'm sure practice will be cancelled!!!

Am I ready for football or what???

Grayson says he can't wait for the weekend since he'll be watching his first ever football game. Looks like he's already wearing great colors!!!!

Welcome....

to the world of blogging. Our great friends The Prescott's have joined the world of blogging, and we are so excited! Myles & Ted are BFF's and Connor & Trent are BFF's!

Sneak peak of soccer....

Connor & I had soccer pictures today. He got his uniform, but we had to give it back to the Team Mom so he can get his name put on the back. He is really excited & can't wait to start his games. Only 2 more weeks!

My other lunch date!

Friday's lunch date was with Connor. He was so cute & funny while we were eating. It still seems kind of surreal having him at school. It just doesn't seem like he's really in school! He was very well behaved and ate most of his lunch. He bought lunch, which was a cheeseburger & some oven fries (which he didn't eat). For dessert he had a cinnamon roll!

He was really excited to have mommy eat with him!

Showing mommy his stickers!

My lunch date!

I had a really good lunch date today, and his name was Myles! I went to sit with him while he was eating. Baked chicken was on the menu, but it didn't look very appetizing so I just sat with him! As soon as I walked in, I noticed that there was a small place to sit, but he quickly told me that he was saving that for his BFF (and his BFF was NOT mommy), but Ted!!! I squeezed on the edge of the seat & enjoyed talking with both boys!

There's no mommy in the shot of the BFF's!!!

Ted's mom told me the sweetest story that their teacher had told her yesterday. The class was going over some words & had to stand up & make a sentence out of a word that was given to him/her. When it was Ted's turn, his word was best so the sentence that he made up was "Myles is my BEST friend." After he said it, he looked at Myles & they were smiling! Their teacher said it was the cutest thing that she's seen. I wish that I could have been there to see & hear it!! They truly are best friends!
My lunch date tomorrow will be with Mr. Connor! I should say brunch because he eats at 10:30!!!

School Days

School is going well for everyone. Both boys have had great behavior. Myles has had homework every night, but Connor hasn't had any. Myles' homework hasn't been bad though. Just a few minutes each night! We love their teachers even more every day!

You can't really see in this picture very well, but Tuesday, Connor came home with lots of dirt on his shirt, which we expect with him! He says that someone pushed him in the mud. I'm not sure what is up with the sticker on his nose.

This is how the boys come home most afternoons, which shows the personality of each boy. Connor comes home with shirt untucked, belt barely on, and shirt dirty. Myles comes home with his shirt still white, tucked in & pretty much looks the same as he did when he is dropped off!!! They are so funny!!!

Sugarland & (supposed to be) Leann Rimes Concert!

Last night Kevin and I headed down to the amphitheater at The Wharf to catch the Sugarland & Leann Rimes concert~ Love on the Inside Tour. We enjoyed a nice dinner at The Rafters and then headed over to the concert. The concert was supposed to start at 8:00, but at 7:45 a huge rain storm passed through & delayed the start of the concert until 10:40! The rain only last about 45 minutes to an hour, but it took the crew a little while to try and dry the stage. They worked for about an hour on Leann Rimes' set & finally at 10:00 an announcement was made that due to a "curfew" (a ridiculous one to us!) that Leann Rimes would not be coming out to sing so they started taking her equipment off the stage & started setting up for Sugarland, which took another 40 minutes. Why the crew was working on the Leann Rimes set for an hour knowing (I think they were the only ones who knew about this curfew!!!) about the curfew and not taking that time to set up for Sugarland remains a mystery to me. So Sugarland came out and rocked the stage for an hour and 20 minutes, and it was great! Kevin and I really enjoyed our "date" night & a big thanks to my sister & mom for helping out with the boys. We finally arrived home at 1:30 a.m.!

Our attempt to take a picture!

Yes, this would be all that we saw of Leann Rimes. We did see her tour bus leave while the crew was setting up for Sugarland!

Jennifer Nettles & Kristian Bush a.k.a. Sugarland! They were great and well worth the 2 hours & forty minute rain delay!

P.S. Kevin had been telling the boys about our "date" night and how he was going to "kiss" me when we got home. Well I had no idea he told the boys that and this morning as I talked with Connor on his way to school he whispered into the phone "Did daddy kiss you last night?". It was so sweet and quite funny too! He made my day!

Myles & Friday Fun Day Snacks!

As you can see, we had a busy first week of school! Myles got to bring "Friday Fun Day" snacks for his class. We decided to make some trail mix, which Myles really enjoyed doing. We took some pretzels, gummy worms & bears, raisins, marsh mellows, sixlets, goldfish, & cheese crackers! He said that it was yummy!

Connor & the Sharing Bucket

Here is Connor with the Sharing Bucket. The Sharing Bucket came home with him from school on Wednesday afternoon. He had to put things in there that told about himself & the next day at school he was able to tell his new friends about himself! He took Star Wars men, a Braves hat, his soccer trophy, his baseball medal, & some family pictures!

First soccer practice

Connor started soccer this past Monday. He really seems to enjoy it. I think that his games start the weekend after Labor Day. Myles decided not to play soccer this year and is instead playing "fall" ball...baseball that is. It should be an interesting couple of months for us as we'll be going 2 different directions!

Connor getting ready to play!

Connor waiting his turn! He is such a cutie!

First day of school

Today was the first day of school for the boys. It's so hard to believe that the school year has already started & that summer went by so quickly! Kevin and I took the boys to school today during a huge rain storm. To say that we were wet is an understatement! Parking was crazy! Both boys had a great day & both came home with good behavior!

Connor in the morning getting ready for school! He was so excited!

The boys are almost the same size!

Yes, their shoes HAVE to be solid white! I wonder how long they will stay clean????

Me & the boys!

Kevin & the boys!

Connor inside the school. You can tell by his hair that it was storming outside!

Myles walking down the hall with Connor! It was so sweet!

With their teachers!

Connor in his classroom coloring!

What a sweet picture that Kevin took. I'm telling Connor good-bye.

Finally, school is out for the day! Yippee!!!!

I'm so glad that today is finally over. I had been anticipating Connor's first day of school for quite some time now. It was hard~I only got teary eyed a couple of times! Now it's back to homework & nightly reading for us!

Last day at Nazarene

Friday was a really hard day for us! It was Connor's last day of preschool. We have grown to love every one there so it was really hard for me.

Here is Myles & Connor with Connor's teacher, Mrs. Verma (she was also Myles' preschool teacher too). She was the best teacher!

Connor & Mrs. Verma!

This is the chair that I usually left Connor in when I dropped him off in the mornings. We say that it's his favorite chair! We had a priceless memory that morning. His teacher told him to come in the classroom & show mommy what his favorite thing was in the classroom was & he pointed straight to Mrs. Verma. It was incredible. It just shows what a special teacher she is. We will definitely miss her and we already do!
