5 boys plus me?!

Sweet loving boys getting
ready for some fun!
Best pals!

I am so out numbered tonight that it's not even funny! Ted & Trent are staying the night with the boys. We're having loads of fun already. Kickball, tball, playing with trains...all boys! I'm ready for some pink! Someone PLEASE talk with Kevin! Just kidding. I love the boys and they are having so much fun. I haven't quite figured out the sleeping arrangements yet. They will all probably want to stay in Myles' room. It has the train set up! I'll update later this evening or in the morning for an update on my all boy evening! I'm off to make some homemade rice krispie treats!

Hanging out with Myles at school!

Taking a test!
Yummy....Lunchtime

Today I was able to hang out with Myles at his school for the entire day (granted he had a half day today but it was so much fun)! We started the day off by reading books in the hallway while waiting for the bell to ring. I received a nice comment- "I could pass for a 5th grader"! Not bad for an almost 30 year old! Once the bell rang, we went inside where Myles had 2 tests, and boy was I ever shocked! I am still in shock over how his test were. It reminds me of high school-- fill in the blank, multiple choice, and something similar to true/false. I had no clue that his spelling and reading words were tested like this. His teacher says that he's doing great so we'll continue on studying every night and learning lots. I just wonder what his future holds. We also went to lunch, where a brunch was served. Needless to say, I didn't eat. I'm not too fond of school food! After lunch, I headed to the copier and made some copies and books for Myles' teacher. After that it was time to go.

Updates on Moo Moo & Poppy

Moo Moo was released from the hospital yesterday after a nice 10 day stay! She was ready to come home after a week. I'm still not 100% sure what all was going on, but she says that she feels much better.
I heard yesterday that Poppy was coming home too. I'm not sure if he was released, but that's the last I heard. Thanks to everyone for the prayers!

Thanks Nanny & PaPa

The boys received mail today. Inside the card was 2 $20 gift cards to Wal-Mart so naturally we piled back into the van and headed to Wal-Mart. They were SO excited. Myles purchased & jumbo pack of Star Wars men and Connor purchased one Star Wars man & a Tom and Jerry movie. I took a quick picture of them before they tore open the packages. I don't even think we were out of the parking lot before cardboard was everywhere!

Prayer requests

Whew, what a week! Tuesday morning I called to check on my mom since it was my dad's birthday and she wasn't feeling well. She hasn't been feeling well for a few weeks so I ended up taking her to the hospital (the very LAST place I wanted to be on my dad's birthday since that's where he spent the last month of his life). She's been in there since then & hopefully she'll be out in a few days. She had alot of fluid around her lungs and lots of swelling in her legs. She also has gall stones, which we believe were causing most of her problems. We're not sure if she's going to have surgery yet or not.

And we just found out this evening that Kevin's grandfather, known as Poppy to the boys, is also in the hospital after having suffered a small heart attack & stroke. Poor thing is 90 and was going fairly strong until the past few months.

Party fun!

Happy Birthday Dad

Today would be my dad's 64th birthday (I'm sure he wouldn't mind me telling everyone his age:). I'll be spending the afternoon with my mom because I know today will be hard for her. I don't think it gets any easier (at least this has been the case for me). Myles talks about his PaPa Flynn all of the time. It amazes me that he remembers him since he was 3 when he passed away. He talks about how he & PaPa loved to play with army men & cowboys & Indians. Connor just talks about him from what Myles says. And he when he talks about him he says "You know, the PaPa that lived with Moo Moo". It's so sweet. I'm posting a picture that I've posted before because it's my favorite. Not only does my dad look so healthy, he's also wearing his beloved Red Sox gear! It's actually a baseball card that we had made during one of the MLB All-Star games. He was a HUGE baseball fan!

Connor's soccer practice

Connor's practice went good tonight. Myles & I stayed for half of the practice & had to leave for a cub scout meeting (that didn't take place)! Connor's coach was out sick so that meant Kevin had the players by himself. Myles is quite the helper. He loves to help Connor's team out and I know that this evening Kevin really enjoyed the help.

As far as the cub scouts meeting, the troop only meets on Monday evenings, which doesn't fit our schedule. So we're going to call the main boy scout department to see if there is another troop that will work with our schedule!

Not much going on...

This weekend was kind of quiet for us, which is very nice every now & then. Soccer season starts up in 2 weeks so we'll be busy every Saturday throughout September & October. This week was kind of rough for us. The pastor that married us, Dr. Ed Litton, wife passed away tragically in a car accident so we've been saddened by this all weekend. Please lift this family up in your prayers as he is the pastor of a very large church & they have 3 children. The youngest is 13 and was home schooled by her mother.

The upcoming week will be busy for us. We have soccer practice & a cub scout meeting tomorrow. Tuesday is a PTA meeting & Thursday will be soccer practice again. I hope to get some pictures of the boys practicing this week. They are having so much fun & Kevin doesn't seem to mind being the assistant coach for both teams:)

Connor's new teacher

Yesterday was Connor's first day with his new preschool teacher, Mrs. Verma. He was so excited to be moving to her class. He knows that this is his last class before he goes to "big" school with Myles! He will get to do lots of fun and exciting things and go on many, many field trips. He loves going on field trips. I know that 2 of his field trips will be going trick or treating at a local nursing home as well as an Easter egg hunt at the same local nursing home. His learning time doesn't start until the day after Labor Day so right now he's just getting accustomed to his new room! He's growing into a sweet little boy!

Long over due project

Hanging on the wall

Today I finally made project that I had been wanting to make for some time now. I saw one similar to mine at our friends, the Hayes' house, and thought it would be neat to make one too. I framed some memories of Myles' year in Kindergarten. It has his diploma, final report card, a sweet letter written by his teacher, & some pictures. I added some stickers to it, and Kevin hung it up this evening. I wanted to put his Perfect Attendance & Student of the Month certificates on it, but I just didn't have enough room. I can't wait (well I can because I don't want Connor growing up so fast) to make Connor's!

Myles at Soccer Camp

Myles had a great time at soccer camp too. He saw his friend from baseball, Dylan. They ended up playing together the entire time. Myles played games too including Knock Out and Sharks & Minnows. Myles had a scrimmage too and his team won. He scored 2 goals and was so excited!

Connor at Soccer Camp

Connor had a great time at camp. He learned so much although he already knew alot from last year. After playing sharks & minnows and a few other games, he was placed on a team & had a scrimmage. He scored one time in the wrong goal, but he didn't even know it! As you can tell from the pictures, it was HOT. After the camp, the USA soccer coach gave each child a poster with the soccer schedule on it. Both boys have already asked to go to a game so we're looking forward to that.

Soccer camp 2007

This morning we headed out to soccer camp at the church where the boys will be playing soccer. The women's soccer team from South Alabama came out to be the instructors. To say it was hot is an understatement! The camp was supposed to be from 9-11, but it ended around 10:40 because of the heat! Both boys had a blast & I'll add an individual post for each of them. We should be hearing from their coach this evening or tomorrow as practice starts this week. After seeing them at camp, they are both ready!

What is Myles thinking

I would LOVE to know what he was thinking when I snapped this picture. We all think it's hilarious! This is how Connor acts 90% of the time.

Flynn-Stoots soccer match

So I took the boys today to get new soccer cleats for camp tomorrow and of course we HAD to play soccer tonight. The teams were Kevin and Myles against Jolene and Connor. The boys had a blast and learned how to dribble, shoot, keep hands OFF the ball (especially Connor-he hasn't mastered this rule yet:), heading the ball & throwing in. And the winner of the game was the team of Flynn-Stoots. Connor and I won 5-4!

First day of First Grade

We MADE it through the day! Myles says that he had a great time at school today! He said he did some of the things that he learned in Kindergarten. He was so happy to see some of his old friends and also made new friends. We don't have homework tonight, but I'm sure next week, we'll be getting into a routine of reading and homework. We almost didn't have any pictures from the school because when I went to take a picture, the camera said "no memory card". So I had to run back to the house (thankfully, we live right down the road from the schoolhouse). We were also able to see the Prescott's this morning too!

Off to first grade!

We're heading into the first grade today! We took some pictures this morning so you could see what we all looked like on Myles' big day. Connor goes to his new teacher's class on Monday so we'll post about his big day on Monday. Myles seems really excited and can't wait to see his friends from kindergarten. He's still looking for Miss Sova, but she moved to a new preschool next door. He doesn't understand who the new lady in her classroom is! We've been trying to explain it, but he just doesn't get it:)

And Myles' 1st grade teacher is..........

MISS CALHOUN! He is EXCITED about her being his teacher. As I was giving him his bath, I asked him who did he want his teacher to be, and he said "Miss Calhoun". I tried to explain to him ahead of time that he may have a different teacher since we didn't know so I was so relieved when I saw his name on her roll. Then the bad news came. Ted and he are not in the same class:( He is disappointed about this, but since he is going to be in Miss Calhoun's class he's okay now. He'll be able to see Ted at recess and maybe P.E!!
