The rest of Opening Day 2008!

Yesterday was Opening Day a.k.a. Jamboree Day. We had opening ceremonies, pictures, a practice game & then ate lunch at the park. It made for a very LONG day and exciting day. Our team played very well and our opponent was none other than the Sand Gnats. Our victory was bittersweet since we were Sand Gnats for 2 years! Kevin and I both caught ourselves saying "Go Sand Gnats" on more than one occasion. We are slowly learning to cheer "Go Grasshoppers"! (although I just typed Sand Gnats & had to backspace & type Grasshoppers!"
Our team before opening ceremonies!

We had pictures after the opening ceremonies & I must say that trying to keep white pants clean for 2.5 hours was a job that I completely failed at! I'm hoping that the pants look okay in their pictures, but if not, it will be okay (this is what I have been telling my OCD self)!
Family pics-

I didn't get a chance to get a family picture, but hopefully I can next Saturday!

Myles & Ted

Of course Opening Day wouldn't be the same without a best friends reunion for Myles & Ted. Because of Myles' late birthday, most of his friends moved up to coach pitch so he & Ted will only be in the same league every other year. Myles missed the cutoff day by 13 days, which is okay because he's will be one of the oldest in the league.

Serious baseball players!

Do we look serious or what? We both loved having the black line under our eyes & waited all day for Mommy to put it on!

Our first at bats!

Boy did both boys hit the ball very well! We were especially impressed with Connor since it is his first year, and we weren't really sure what to expect. And, he ran so fast!

After a long, hard practice game!

Both boys were kind of tired after the practice game. Myles still wanted to play ball non-stop when we finally got home! And, they both slept very well last night!

Opening Day 2008

Myles & Connor both heading for home!

Ready for Opening Day!
Opening Day 2008 was a great success & wonderful day! Both boys played very well, and we were so excited to see Connor play in his first year. Myles seems to have picked up right where he left off last year, & Connor seems to have learned so much from watching Myles play for 2 years. I took over 100 pictures this morning so it will be very hard for me to pick out my favorites for the blog, which I'll do tomorrow, but for now here are a couple of my favorites!

Myles has lost his first tooth!

Can you believe that after 2 months of being loose Myles' tooth FINALLY came out his evening at about 9:10 p.m.? We were so excited, and he is excited that the tooth fairy will be paying a visit to our house this evening! Connor is spending the night with his aunt so as soon as Myles' tooth stopped bleeding, he wanted to call Connor and tell him the news! He was so giddy tonight after his tooth came! What a priceless moment for Kevin and me!
My last picture with
all of my baby teeth!

Connor, can you believe
that my tooth came out?

Did you notice my new
gap on the bottom?

My special pillow for
the tooth fairy!

Sweet dreams!

More pictures from Easter

Here are a few pictures of us from early this morning! Big thanks to Robin who took our family picture at church. We almost didn't get one because Connor fell on the playground right before the picture was taken, but he proved to be a trooper!

Our family
Looking nice before church

Best friends!

The Bunny pays a visit

What the bunny left...

A trail of candy left by the bunny
I wonder what it leads to?

Of course...Star Wars!
The trail of candy to Star Wars men was the high light of the morning. The boys were very excited. They each had a trail leading from their basket to two separate parts of our front room. Of course, Myles told us this morning he saw the bunny on a four wheeler, which is the story he told us last year. Neither one of us mentioned the story to him & he brought it up all over again!

One last Easter egg hunt!

Saturday morning while Kevin was running the Crescent City Classic, I took Myles, Connor & Carleigh to a pancake breakfast & Easter Egg Hunt. They had so much fun. First the kids ate pancakes, and then drew pictures for the bunny & had their pictures take with the bunny. After that there was an egg hunt. There were about 400 eggs for a dozen or less kids!!!! Needless to say, they had lots of eggs. Thankfully there was an egg recycling program so I gladly gave all the eggs back! Inside the eggs were tickets for prizes or candy. The last thing that happened was a basket giveaway. I won the first one & Connor won the next one. I tried to give Connor's back, but he wouldn't let. Right after that he gave it to Carleigh! Silly boy!

I'm really concentrating!
Some of our eggs!

So sweet!
Best cousins!
Cousins being silly!

Group shot with the bunny!
Some of the boys' prizes from the egg hunt!

Dyeing Easter eggs!

Dyeing eggs last night was very interesting. It reminded me a lot of last year because we dyed eggs Star Wars style AGAIN!!! The boys had lots of fun & really enjoyed making the different characters, and believe it or not, we didn't have a single accident this year!

Happy belated birthday Moo Moo

Friday night we went out to eat for Moo Moo's birthday (he actual birthday was Thursday). Of course we took her to her favorite Mexican restaurant, El Giro! The kids had lots of fun too because it was karaoke night and Carleigh showed us some dance moves! She was so sweet!

Myles' class Easter Egg Hunt

Friday Myles had his Easter Egg Hunt at his school. On Thursday the class dyed "real" eggs and hunted the eggs on Friday. It was really hard for Myles to grab eggs because he was looking for the ones that he had dyed the previous day! He had lots of fun!
And, I'm off!

Hunting for eggs, real eggs that is!

School Project

Myles had a school project that was a family project. Each family had to decorate an egg so I thought it would be neat to decorate it Braves' style! We put a family picture of us at the Braves game & used glitter glue to decorate it the colors of the Braves! Because I had never used glitter glue other than on stockings, we had to make 2 because the first one was loaded down with glitter glue. So much so that the next morning it still was wet!!!!!

Another Easter egg hunt for Connor!

Connor's class went to a local nursing home Friday for an Easter Egg Hunt. Unfortunately, the preschool thought it started at 10:00 but instead it was supposed to start at 9:00. His teacher tried to call me but I had left my cell phone in the car & didn't get the message until 9:45. I was on my way there. I missed the hunt & Connor sitting with the bunny, but I was able to see him eat his cookies and get a chocolate bunny from the Bunny! The nursing home was really sweet to let the kids come & hunt for eggs and give them yummy treats!
A couple funny pictures of Connor!
This is a cute picture of Connor playing
with the parakeet!

Connor's School Easter Egg Hunt

Connor's class had their Easter Egg Hunt & party on Thursday. I was able to go to the hunt but I passed on the party! He found lots of eggs & even gave me one!

Getting ready to hunt eggs & with my friend Bay
With 2 eggs! I gave my mommy the pink one!
