Student of the Month

Myles was chosen Student of the Month/Character Chief for his class! This month the character chief characteristic was "respect". He went to a party today and had pizza. And, he came home with a certificate and coupons to a couple of local restaurants! We're so proud of him!

School Project

Myles had another school project to do this week in celebration of Black History Month. Of course he chose Hank Aaron for his project (we weren't surprised at all!). We were fortunate that Hank Aaron is from here, and for his cover page, we went to the Baybear's Stadium to take some pictures.

Happy Birthday Emily

Today is Emily's birthday. She and Myles are the same ago (okay she's a few months older!), and tonight they practiced for the Grove together. While we were leaving, I asked her to give Myles some advice on how to lose a tooth since she's an expert. Her advice was eat corn on the cob, wiggle it at night, and the next morning touch your tooth & there should be blood. Then mom will pull it out! It looks like she had a good day to make up for missing her party! Hope you have a great one, Em!

Huge Thanks

to Hilary for making my new header! As you can see, we're going with a baseball theme since it's almost that time of year! I am checking out a book from the library since I have the program (Photoshop) that allows you to make these headers, but since I'm not very familiar with it, I'm going to learn it!

It's almost that time.....

This afternoon we headed to Academy to get some baseball gear. Myles needed new cleats and Connor had decided that he would wear Myles' cleats from last year, which made us happy. Well Myles picked out some red ones this time (every year he has picked out a different color) and when Connor saw them he started telling us that his feet were hurting. So I had him try on a pair of red ones that were a size 1.5 (and I thought they would be too big), & after he ran in them he said "Mommy, they're a PERFECT fit" and the emphasis he put on perfect was so cute that we decided to let him get a pair! They both wore them around the store and headed straight to the ball park for some practice! Won't be long & practice will be starting.

Live on stage!

This morning Myles got to go on stage during the Grove and sing all the songs. He was so excited! I was able to peek in there at the end & take a couple of pics. And since Kevin goes in there every Sunday he took some for me too!
My favorite pic!

Front flip

Here is Myles doing a front flip on the trampoline at Hayden's birthday party. It's the first time that he's ever done one! (Just click on the play arrow)

Hayden's party

Myles went to Hayden's birthday party yesterday. I forgot to get his picture taken with her. He had fun. It was a High School Musical theme, which he liked. He mostly played outside and loved jumping on the trampoline!

Emily's party

Yesterday we headed back to Pump It Up for Emily's party. Em wasn't there because she was sick, which was a bummer. The boys had fun. Myles managed to get his first (and hopefully last) bloody nose from a girl! I think he fell on a girl's knee in one of the jumping things! I love the picture that I captured of Connor coming down the slide. He loved it!

Our gifts

Kevin and I don't usually get each other anything big for Valentine's Day, but this year was different. He got me one of the new ipod touch players and I am getting him a ladder. I say "getting" because we haven't picked out the one he wants yet! I know...very romantic but very practical!! I must say that I have really enjoyed the ipod. I am still trying to figure it out, but two of my favorite features are the podcasts & internet capability. I am now able to download weekly podcasts of Andy Stanley, who is one of my favorite preachers.

Married Life Live

Friday night Kevin and I had a date night and went to an event at our church called "Married Life Live". We had a great time doing the Cha-Cha, playing games & hearing the guest speaker, Dr. Ed Litton, who is the pastor at First Baptist North Mobile. He is also the pastor that married Kevin and me almost 9 years ago. His speech was incredible and hilarious. His wife past away in a tragic car accident 6 months ago and for him to come & be the guest speaker at a get together for married people, the day after Valentine's Day and the day before the 6 month anniversary of the accident tells you what an incredible guy he is. I wish that I had a copy of his speech because it was so encouraging. What a Godly man he is even in his time of despair!

Gifts from mommy & daddy

For Valentine's Day this year, Kevin and I decided to take the boys to Build A Bear Workshop & let them each build a stuffed animal. Connor chose a Siberian Huskey & picked out a soccer uniform and named him Sweeper (after the soccer position)! Myles picked out a turtle & picked out an Atlanta Braves outfit and named him Smoltzie (after his favorite Braves player John Smoltz)! Both boys really loved making them!

V-day gifts from grandparents

The boys were very excited about their gifts from Moo Moo & Nanny & Pa Pa. They got new summer clothes from Moo Moo which they have already worn thanks to our warm weather! And from Nanny & Pa Pa they received gift cards to Walmart, which they spent in one trip on Friday! Myles bought a 5 pack of Star Wars men & Connor bought some kind of Star Wars spaceship (or something like that!) The boys were so very excited to get mail (if you can't tell from the pictures!)

We'll be looking nice at Disney World!

We're still so happy!

Valentine's Day 2008

We had a lovely Valentine's Day this year. We started the morning off by letting the boys exchange gifts to each other. They had each bought Spiderman Candy Hearts for each other. Connor wasn't very excited at first because he had stayed up with me until 11:30 p.m. making treat bags and heart shaped sandwiches for his class & Myles' class! After a few mintues he was in a much better mood, but I didn't have time to take another picture.

Sunday morning

Here are a couple of pictures of the boys from this morning. The first one is Myles at the Grove. This is where he worships on Sunday mornings. He loves it so much. He wants to start going to the Wednesday night practices so he can sing on stage Sunday mornings. I'll be taking him to his first practice this Wednesday to see if he likes it. Emily sang on stage for the first time this Sunday morning so I think she encouraged him to do it! Now, Robin & I can use Wednesday nights to prepare our lessons for Sunday morning (we teach K5 Sunday school), and we won't have to do the preparations on the weekends anymore. It will be perfect!

Build a Bear

Build A Bear- here we come!

She didn't want me to take
this pic!

She's starting to like the camera!

She loves the camera now! This
is my favorite pic of the day!

Carleigh & Miley!

Birth certificate & all!

What an adventure! We stopped in Malbis so Carleigh could make a "Build A Bear". It was just me & her and we had so much fun. I think I embarrassed her a bit with the camera, but after awhile she was okay with it! She made a really cute bear. She "had" to buy the bear panties, a skirt, a tank top, a sweater, shoes, purse & sunglasses. All for $60!!! I'm thinking about taking Myles & Connor there for Valentines Day and let them make one too.

Girls' day out!

Yesterday my mom, sister, neice & myself spent the day shopping! We went to the Outlet Malls & stopped in Malbis on the way back. We found loads of great bargains and I got some the boys some summer clothes as well. It was so much fun having just a girl's day out!

Mr Photogenic!

Here are a few of the pictures that I took of Connor at Myles' basketball team party. This little boy is so sweet & loves, just absolutely loves to smile! I can't believe he is already 5 years old.
