Black Friday Shopping 2008

We hit the stores bright & early this morning. Just like we did last year! We woke up around 3:30 to head to JCPenneys and then Circuit City. Both stores were really busy, but I thought Circuit City would be busier. Kevin was at Walmart! Both were really excited to go shopping. They loved it! Most people thought I was crazy, but I politely explained that they wanted to go shopping! Since the boys were very well behaved, I bought them a new pair of PJ's. It was a pack of 2 and they were "Wii" PJ's.
Trying to wake the boys up!

Here are the boys at JCPenneys & then at Circuit City!

At home with their new PJ's!

And, here they are fast asleep!

The mapmaker & his apprentice!

Myles had a school project due on Tuesday. He had to make a map of his neighborhood! What the perfect project for him & his daddy. That's because daddy is a mapmaker. The boys did a very basic map of our neighborhood & had lots of fun doing it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a very last minute change in plans for Thanksgiving & ended up eating at our house! Kevin and I cooked everything from the turkey to rice to peas & butter beans to dressing to macaroni & cheese! It was very delicious, and we really enjoyed our family dinner. Of course I spent most of the meal trying out the new camera!

The boys getting ready to eat!

I just love these pictures of Connor! So sweet & innocent!

From the look on Myles' face, I think that he loved our dinner!

Jags Basketball Game

Last night we went to watch the South Alabama Jags play basketball against the Arkansas Razorbacks at the Mitchell Center. The Razorbacks coach, Coach Pelphrey, used to attend our church so our church was selling tickets. We had a great time and saw some friends from church & Myles' baseball team! I thought it was a great opportunity to shoot some photos with my new camera. I still have NO CLUE as to what I'm doing, but some of the pictures did turn out fairly good! I'm sure the people behind me thought I had lost my mind taking so many pictures!

Here are the boys!

Of course we had to get cotton candy & popcorn!

Connor & Carson~Carson is in Connor's Sunday School class, which is the class that I am teaching this year!

Of course, Connor was tired of me taking pictures!

Early Christmas gift!

Oh wow is all that I can really say right! Kevin surprised me last night with the camera that I have really been wanting! It's the Nikon D60 DSLR. It came with the camera, another lens, an instructional video & a bag! It's my first ever "real" camera, and I can't WAIT to start using it! Best Buy had a great package deal this week and after much research (of course by Kevin), he decided that the camera was good & that it would not be on sale at this price on Friday. Now, all I have to do is learn how to use it:)

It's late..but Happy Birthday Kerri Ann!!!

Just wanted to send out a birthday wish to Kerri Ann, my bestie's daughter! We hate that we weren't able to celebrate this year and that we are a week & a few days late! Just like our gift that was late too! We shipped her the new movie Tinkerbell on Saturday, and it made it to Virginia on Monday, and we didn't send it overnight, but received overnight service! Isn't that just great?! Well happy 5th birthday kerr bear! We love you & miss you lots!

Connor loses another tooth!

That's right! Connor lost his second tooth Sunday afternoon. He was super excited! Myles wanted to pull it out, but he never did! Connor's tooth had been loose for what seemed like forever! We were hoping that it would come out the weekend that Kevin's parents were supposed to visit, but since they weren't able to come down after all, the tooth stayed in an extra week! We were hoping that they would be able to experience the tooth fairy in our house, but it just wasn't meant to be.

We took this picture last weekend because we thought his tooth was coming out that night!

Here is Myles trying to pull it! Mommy ended up pulling it!

First picture after tooth was pulled! He has a huge empty space now!

Connor holding his tooth!

I walked in Connor's room to see if he was asleep & this is how I found him! He was actually using the tooth fairy pillow as his pillow!

After the tooth fairy visited!

Monday morning~The tooth fairy left Connor 4 $1 bills. He was so excited!

Awards Day 1st Quarter!

The school had awards day a week ago & both boys were honored! Connor was awarded certificates for A Honor Roll & Perfect Attendance and Myles was awarded certificates for AB Honor Roll (he made one B in reading) and Perfect Attendance! We are so proud of both boys and are very thankful that they have GREAT teachers!

Connor~ I wasn't able to get a picture of him receiving his award because he ran up there so fast! He must have been very excited!

Myles receiving his award. He wasn't as fast as Connor~I guess he's kind of used to it:)

Connor's first field trip!

Connor's first field trip was to Beebe Farm in Baldwin county. He had a blast and so did I!!! He thoroughly enjoyed the bus ride as it was his first time ever on a school bus! I cherish these memories with the boys!

This was one of my first shots of Connor & turned out to be one of my favorites because of the image on the glass! He was just beside himself being on a school bus! (You can click on the picture to see a larger version)

This was Connor calling Kevin and telling him we were about to go through the tunnel! Kevin was able to look out his work window and see us.

This would be my other favorite shot of the day. Just the color is great & I love how Connor is looking!

Connor with the pumpkin that he picked out. Of course it was the largest!

Feeding the goat, which he LOVED!!!

Connor & the goat!

Connor meeting up with his best friend, Trent, during the lunch break!

Connor's favorite part of the field trip...riding the pony!

My last favorite shot of the day! If you enlarge the picture, you'll be able to see how hilarious Connor is being & the interaction with his teacher, Mrs. Smith, is priceless!

Still acting silly!

Finally caught up!

Yes, the blog has FINALLY been updated, and I can say that it is updated except for Connor's field trip to the zoo. I will work on that post this week. Life is kind of slow for us now, which is great. Both boys are playing basketball and have practice one night a week. Games don't start until December so we're relaxing!

Finally...pictures from the VT game!

Well I'm finally getting around to posting some of my favorite pictures from the game! We had a great time, and it was a great family outing. It was the boys' first football game, and we were excited to see how they would like it! Although the outcome is not what we would have liked, we still had a blast as a family! We found great parking, which was outrageously priced! But at least we parked next to some Hokies' fans! We had great seats. We were surprised how good they were!

Before the game, we ate lunch at Moes. It was a great college atmosphere!

I love this picture of the boys walking to the game. They were all sooo excited!

The boys getting ready to go into the stadium!

Connor watching kicking practice!

Both boys watching the kickers!

Myles is trying to call his grandparents, who live an hour from Blacksburg!

I love how Connor is cheering here! I don't think the game had started yet, but he was getting his lungs ready!

The National Anthem!

Myles showing us his VT sign with his hands!

And here is Connor doing his best sign!

I love this picture of the boys. The each had a tattoo on each cheek & wore them for a few days!

I absolutely love this picture of the boys. The Hokies weren't winning here!

I love Connor. He is sooo photogenic!

What a great picture of Myles! The lighting was perfect!

Sweet Connor again!

Touchdown Hokies!

This is my favorite shot of the boys. The sky this evening was perfect and beautiful! In the background is the FSU mascot bronzed. The spear has real fire on it. I guess because they won!

This is how we found Connor 5 minutes after we were in the van. Guess you can tell the Hokies didn't win!

He was out for the night!

What a great day for us as a family! We all had a blast and the boys enjoyed their first game. Hopefully the Hokies can win the next 2 games so that maybe we can head to Tampa and watch them play the ACC Championship. The Hokies have a big game Thursday night and we'll be cheering loudly from home!
GO HOKIES GO!!!!
