Virginia Tech VS Miami Game GO HOKIES!!!!

Call us crazy but the week of the VT & Miami game we decided to find some tickets on stub hub & head to VA for a quick weekend trip. It was an early birthday present for me! Yes we drove 700 miles on Friday (we let the boys go to school for half a day so they wouldn't be counted absent) & woke up Saturday & headed to Blacksburg (a little over an hour from Kevin's parent's house) to watch an AMAZING football game! We love those HOKIES! Miami was very highly favored to win & the HOKIES whooped them 31-7! It wasn't even close. It rained the entire game. Thankfully we had not purchased the boys' a ticket because there is no way Connor would have stood in the rain. Myles would have though. Because of the rain, I didn't get very many pictures. I had both of my cameras but the small Canon had no battery since I haven't used it in ages. So I periodically pulled out the Nikon & snapped some pictures. There was an awesome blocked kick right in front of us that I wish I would have gotten a picture of. Because the fans were so fanatic, I didn't pull the camera out during the game!!!!

The guys warming up!

Scoreboard before the game started!

A quick self picture! Not the best thanks to the rain!

LETS GO HOKIES!!!!

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor coming out!

The best flag ever!

Sweet scoreboard!!! I missed Miami's only touchdown because I was in line getting us hot chocolate. We couldn't feel our toes so I went to get something as soon as half time started & stood in line for what seemed like ages!

The we had to wait an hour & a half to get out of the parking lot. We enjoyed taking random pics & watching people trying to drive through mud holes & get stuck! Patience paid off in the end for us!

We had such a great day in Blacksburg and the rain didn't spoil our fun! We got in lots of shopping at our favorite store Campus Emporium & other shops. We even did a little Christmas shopping for the boys. It's not every day that we get to go to Blacksburg so when we do we over due it sometimes!!!!!

2nd fall ball game of the year!

And the pics from game 2 are finally being updated! This game the boys actually played on the coach pitch field, which is a little smaller than the minor's field. It was another great game for the boys. I'm so proud of how well they are playing. They just love playing baseball! I sure wish my dad could see them play because I just know how proud he would be of them!

Connor warming up!

Myles warming up. I love how serious he is!

Going for a pop fly!

Still has his eyes on the ball

And it's a catch!

Connor going for a pop fly!

But he missed it. Love his expression in this picture!

Myles as the 1st baseman

Love how I was able to get both of them in the picture!

Connor is READY!

Coach Andy showing Connor where to stand

Yes, he talks to the coaches non-stop!

An amazing play by Connor that I'm so ecstatic catching on film!!!! The bases were loaded, the ball came to Connor & he made the force out without anyone telling him where to throw the ball!

Myles getting ready to bat!

Love that swing!

He made it safely to first!

First Fall Ball Game of the Year!

Okay so I am about a month behind on posting! We've been so busy lately with baseball & a weekend trip to Virginia (a post on that is coming soon!). The boys are almost finished with fall ball & our team is doing so great! They have only lost one game! Here are so pictures from the first game.

Myles getting ready to play!

Silly Connor with 2 hats & a batting helmet!

Can you see the excitement in their eyes?????

Myles getting ready to warm up. This is becoming one of his favorite stances that drive his coaches crazy!!!! He will be on first base standing like this!!!!!

Love this picture of Connor!

Okay so the boys' first game was a rain out, but they quickly played later in the week. It rained that day too but the rain had stopped in time for them to play! The coach put dirt on all of the boys' faces to get them ready. Wait until you see Connor after the game!

Dirty and ready to play some baseball!!!

Myles' first at bat of the season

He looks so tiny! But they were playing on a the minor's field, which is larger than the coach pitch field.

And it's a hit!

He's off....

and lands a triple! We were so excited! Myles was the second batter & he knocked in a run!

And he got to score too!

Here's Connor's first at bat in coach pitch! I was so nervous for him! He was batting 5th in the lineup.

Yeah, his dad wasn't too happy with this swing!

And this is the actual first hit! I was so happy to get a picture of it. The ball is coming towards him.

And he hit it all the way to the outfield on the large field!!!! We were really excited for him!!!!

And he is running towards third!

First at bat of coach pitch=a triple!

He eventually was able to score!

Myles playing first base with Connor right behind him playing right field. Connor backed Myles up so well during the game!

What a serious first baseman!

And a serious right fielder. The ball came to Connor once & the other coach tried to send the runner from first to third & guess who threw the runner going from second base to third base out from right field???? Connor! It was great & shocked everyone! After the first game, the coach moved Connor to pitcher so he hasn't had any more plays like that.

Very excited baseball player!

All smiles after the first win!

Check out those faces. Connor's face may look a little orange. That would be baseball dirt!
