Almost broken nose!

Thanks to Connor, Myles nearly had a broken nose today! Apparently the basketball was stuck on the rim so bright Connor, our child with no common sense like his mommy, decided that he would pick up a scooter and try to knock loose the ball. It was good idea except for the fact that he didn't think about Myles standing there! The scooter landed on Myles nose, which lead to a big bloody nose. At first Kevin thought it was broken but it wasn't. Right now it is really blue. I tried to take a picture of it but it's hard to see.

Christmas with Moo Moo

Myles & his Moo Moo
That's right. We celebrated with Moo Moo this evening! Myles gave her his present that he bought her at Santa Shop. It was a picture album. We also gave her her pjs and shirts that we had her. She still has lots to open but we'll wait for my niece and sister to give them to her. My mom was discharged today from the nursing home & will be staying with us for a little while. She says a few weeks, but I'm not sure if it will last that long with 2 wild boys running around!

Basketball celebration

Today was Myles' end of the year basketball celebration. It is a big program where the kids get their trophies. This year the celebration was a week early because of the upcoming Mardi Gras parades. I did get to go because I was getting my mom checked out of the nursing home. I tried to take pictures of Myles' game yesterday but I had left my memory card in the computer & my camera doesn't have any internal memory. It was the first game where he played against someone his own size! He had a good game & scored 1 basket!

Brotherly love

This is how I found the boys last night! We were waiting for Kevin to get home from hunting and Myles wanted to read some books so he read to Connor! It was so sweet!

Last day of hunting for Daddy

Yesterday was the last day of hunting for Kevin. The season actually ends this week but yesterday was the last chance for Kevin to go. He had lots of fun he said, but he didn't catch anything this year. The boys really wanted him to bring some antlers home. Myles told me he wanted to paint them the colors of Auburn & Virginia Tech. I have no idea where he came up with that.

really, really want to go!)

1st Mardi Gras parade of the year

Having lots of fun!

The boys & their goodies!

We headed across the bay Friday night to watch a Mardi Gras parade in Daphne. We watch the parades over there because the crowds aren't very bad & we've found a great place to park and watch. Plus my friend Aimee lives right there! The boys had so much fun & caught all kinds of treats: moon pies, peanuts, beads, stuffed animals & footballs!

Friday fun day at school!

Both boys had fun days at school on Friday. For Connor, it was show & tell. He took one of his star wars men & wore his Sand Gnats hat (had to be like his big brother!) Myles got to wear crazy socks & a hat for his AR Reading Achievement. He wore some Virginia Tech socks & his Sand Gnats hat!

Still NO loose teeth!

Myles & I had our 6 month check up with our favorite dentist, Dr David Norstedt. Poor Myles. He is so anxious to have one loose tooth. The dental assistant was able to take a scan of his teeth. Dr Norstedt says that he still sees lots of baby roots so it looks like it will be awhile for the tooth fairy to visit our house!

Basketball game

Here are some pictures from Myles' basketball game on Saturday. I don't think that they have lost a game all year! Myles did great this game- he made 2 baskets and got a lot of shots off! It's so cute to see him because sometimes he tries to shoot from far away! Like a 3 pointer for kids! He is very, very small compared to the kids he is playing against. Once or twice, he has guarded someone that is his size, but most of the time the other kids are about a head taller!

You can barely see me-I'm the one
with the ball & I'm able to shoot
and score 2 points!!!!!! Go Myles!
Connor before the game-
He wishes that his shirt
said "Moo Moo's" valentine!
Myles coming out of the tunnel
before the game- there's music
& fog coming out!
Pass it to me. I'm open
Connor giving Myles' good
luck hugs during halftime!
Yeah, he's a lot taller than me,
but I'm quicker!
Good ball control! My parents think
I'll be a point guard if I continue
to play basketball. I need a growth
spurt first though!

Report Card

Study hard....Get lots of sugar!!!

Myles finally received his report card Friday! He was supposed to receive it on Monday, but there was so kind of problem with printing them. Anyhow, the local Krispy Kreme gives a free donut for each A! Myles made straight A's so he was able to get 6 (he only has 5 subjects but I guess she gave him one for his conduct grade too). He was so excited. Instead of giving him money for his grades I took him to Walmart & he picked out 2 star wars men! Imagine that!

100th day of school

Do I look 100?
Help, I'm graying!
Thursday Myles' school celebrated the 100th day of school. In honor of the celebration, he had to dress as a 100 year old man! So we sprayed his hair silver, he wore a sweater vest over a button down shirt, wore glasses & took a walking stick that I had actually won at a road race in Fairhope YEARS ago!

Busy week

The past week has been a very busy week for us to say the least. My mom was placed in a nursing home last Monday for a 21 day rehabilitation program so that hopefully she can come home. She suffered a stroke on the 21st of December, but she appears to be getting stronger every day. Her twitch that she had as a result of the stroke has completely stopped. I will try and update the blog with new pictures tomorrow. I barely know what day of the week it is and by the evening I'm too exhausted to update the blog. The boys are doing great. We've noticed over the past few weeks how Connor has gone from looking like a toddler to a handsome young boy. Myles is busy as ever playing basketball!

Waiting for the countdown....

Yes, we watched the countdown and the ball drop. Thankfully it was Eastern Standard Time so it was only 11:00. The kids all enjoyed watching the ball come down & seeing the program. Very shortly afterwards, the first and only child fell asleep. It was none other than Connor! What a great evening we had with great friends.

New Year's Eve Party

New Year's Eve, we went to a party at our friend's, The Laird's, house. We had a great time. First the kids ate pizza and played the Wii and then the adults ate and played the Wii. It was great fun. After that, we headed outside for some fireworks. Chris and Scott shot off the big ones and the kids had fun with sparklers and Roman Candles. Hope was VERY dangerous with her bottle rockets. She would throw them in the air or try and lay them down. One came right towards me and boy was I in the air!

A Wii....Woo Hoo

I can't believe that I forgot to post this while I was posting about gifts from Santa! I don't think I'll ever forget it. Myles has been asking for a Playstation/DS for the longest time. We think he just wanted some kind of game system. He even said that if Santa left it by his stuff that it would be his or if he left it in the family room it would be for the family. So of course we left the Wii out in front of our TV and in the same room as the gifts from the grandparents. Well when the boys ran in there they never saw the Wii. Kevin and I sat there in excitement and anticipation for nearly 20 minutes before Connor stumbled upon it and we're talking about 5 feet separating the Wii and other gifts! Myles started screaming in shear joy! They were so excited and still are. I must say that I woke up the day after Christmas with what I was calling tennis elbow!

Bubba-Look... What's this?

A Wii.. A Wii.. A Wii

Look- I can't believe it!

We're still in shock!

Of course...Star Wars

Christmas dinner with my cousins!!!

Our normal Christmas tradition is to have lunch at my parent's house. Our nephew Alvin, who lives with his other grandparents in MS, gets to spend the holidays with us so he usually stays at my parent's house. Since my mom is in the hospital, he stayed with my sister and we had Christmas dinner at our house. Everyone had a great time. Of course, it wouldn't be a Flynn get together if our niece's cat, Cane, didn't join in on the fun! He's only 2 and is huge!
