On July 12, Kevin and I left for an amazing trip to San Diego. Kevin was going to the ESRI Conference & I just went along for some fun. We also celebrated our 10 year anniversary as well. We were planning a trip & when we learned Kevin would be attending the conference, we decided that we would combine the 2! We were very thankful that Kevin's parents watched the boys. We met them in Chattanooga, TN the day before we left so that the boys could spend a week in VA. It was the first time that we had ever been away from the boys besides Myles' trip to church camp the previous week. As much as we missed the boys, it was really nice to have some alone time & enjoy the sites of San Diego! Kevin attended the conference in the morning & then we headed out around San Diego in the afternoons & evenings!
Here are the boys as we were leaving the house to go meet Nanny & Pa Pa!
The boys leaving with Nanny & Pa Pa! They had a fun filled week planned for the boys!
The sunrise from the airplane. Our flight left out at 6 am so that we could get to CA very early!
My map maker husband loved seeing the sites from above. I must admit that this shot is quite amazing to me!
The crooked line is actually a river!
This is our hotel. It was AMAZING to say the least! Our room was actually a corner room. We had 2 balconies: one was the view of the Bay & the other view was of the city! We stayed at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. I would highly recommend it!
As soon as we got checked into the hotel, we headed straight to the zoo! We relied on public transportation the entire trip. First up was the polar bears! They were great!
The lion. According to the a tour guide, the lion was new to the zoo & was not used to his surroundings yet.
Nice shot of the giraffe!
The koala bear was sleeping!
We loved all the vegetation so we took lots of pictures!
2 birds flying during the seal show!
There were actually 4 birds but 2 quit flying!
Kevin!

I was amazed by these gorillas. There was a mother, father & a child. The child looked like a baby, but really wasn't because he was born with a genetic disorder. We got to see his parents play & interact with him!
