Here's Connor's latest school project. He was sent home a copy of a turkey to decorate. We decided to glue the picture to some foam board so that it would hold the decorations. We used beans for the body and candy for the feathers! And, we used candy corn for the feet. It smelled really good when we were finished!
Here is the finished project!

Turkey project!
Myles & Connor's first ever road race!!!!
Myles and Connor ran in their first ever road race Saturday, November 1 (which was actually my birthday and it was the greatest way to spend it with the boys!). They ran in the Food World Senior Bowl Charity Run! They both ran the 1 mile fun run although Kevin thought Myles could run the 5K. Kevin ran with Myles & I ran with Connor! Kevin timed Myles at 7:10, which included the walking at the beginning that the race officials made us do! Connor & I were right around 8 minutes! I was so proud of him because he did not want to stop at all & ran the second half faster than the first half, which is what runners like to do!!! Of course I had my camera with me & was taking pictures as Connor and I ran!
Here they are bright and early getting ready to go! This is the race shirt that they were given!
Myles getting his race number on & his first ever race number!
Warming up with daddy! We all have very good form!
Here we are stretching before the race!
Of course Connor still didn't want to take a picture.
Myles on the starting line!
And we're off. Here's Connor running. I didn't get any shots of Myles because they were in front of us. I hate that I don't have any pictures of him running.
Still running. We're running down Government Street in downtown!
We're running the home stretch. I was giving him LOTS of encouragement!
We finished & received a ribbon, which he is proudly displaying on his bedroom door!
Both boys with their ribbons!
Myles with his ribbon. He did such a great job!
All 3 boys after the race. I hate that I didn't get a picture of me & the boys. Or a family shot.
Boo'ed again!
This year the boys were "boo'ed" through the mail! And, they loved it! My best friend, Robin, who moved to Virginia in May, sent the boys a "boo" package through the mail. It had lots of candy, a glow stick & the best ever Star Wars stickers! The boys were so excited and very thankful. I sure do miss my best friend!
The boys trying to open their packages!
We LOVE the stickers!
Halloween 2008
This year for Halloween we went trick or treating with our friends, The Prescotts. They had a small party with pizza & veggies. We brought over some cupcakes and rice crispy treats. The boys had soooo much fun. There were 7 Star Wars characters!!!
The group of trick or treaters!
Yes, this would be Connor jumping off a porch after getting a treat. And, yes, he did get in trouble!!!
Connor coming back to the street!
This is my best shot of them together. Connor was NOT in the mood for taking pictures & I couldn't bribe him to take one!
Myles & Ted with some kind of treat that they were given!
"Symbols" project!
Myles had his first school project the week before last. He had to take a US symbol and make a 3D project. He chose the military, in honor of his great grandfather. He came up with the idea all on his own & we were so impressed with his creativity! He wanted to make a battlefield with his army men! We spray painted Styrofoam to make mountains and added a US flag. To top the project off, we added the last picture we have of Poppy & Myles. He also had to write a paragraph about his project & present it to the class.
Here he is choosing what army men to use!
And, here is the finished project!
Baseball party!
Myles' baseball team had their team party the Sunday we returned from the Virginia Tech game. Of course we made it back in time. The party was at the baseball field and there was a game of players vs parents, which was fun! The kids had a pizza and cupcake party. There was tons of pizza there! Myles received his trophy, a cute bobble head, and a bright yellow/green baseball! He loves that ball!
Myles with his trophy & ball!
Here he is getting his things from Coach Barry. I'm not sure what was up with the lighting, but my pictures were not very well from this angle!
He loves eating pizza!
This is what it looked like the next morning! Still swollen!
Soccer party
Connor's soccer team party was held at a local park after the big soccer celebration that the league puts on. First we went to the celebration where Connor received his trophy. He was sooooo excited! After that we went and had some fun at the park. The kids ran around and ate pizza, chips, veggies & cupcakes!
I love my trophy!!!
I love this picture of Connor swinging!
Group shot! We were missing a few kids, but here are the ones that were there!
Connor's last soccer game
Here are the pictures of Connor's last game. I missed the game, but Kevin said that it was his best one yet. Yeah, I feel horrible about missing it! He made 3 goals! One goal (the one I really wanted to see), he made from the opposite end of the field! He was playing defense (full back) and kicked the ball really hard. Way to go Connor!
I love these shots. Lots of concentration going on!
More action shots!

The end of fall baseball!
Here are the pictures from Myles' last 3 games. I can't believe that I haven't posted these sooner! It's really hard to believe that I'm that far behind! His last 3 games were great. He got hits in all of them. 2 of the games he played pitcher and the last game he played 3rd base.
And, here he is with the ball. And, just think...this was a new ball before the game started!
Here are the pictures from Myles' last game on October 28! Myles batted in the number 5 spot this evening and played 3rd base. He made an incredible throw to first base on a ball that was hit to him. It would have been an out but the first baseman didn't have his foot on the bag when he caught the ball. He had great at bats & hit the best hit of all season his last at bat. To say that he saved the best for last would be so true!!! Myles usually hits the ball on the right side of the field, but his last at bat, he ripped it down the 3rd base line & ended up getting a TRIPLE!!! We were cheering so loud for him!!!! I think he ended up the night with 6 RBI's!!!
It's so hard to believe that fall ball is now behind us and we've moved onto basketball. We really enjoyed the season and the team. I'll update pictures of the team party soon!
