Governor's Physical Fitness Award!

After field day yesterday, the P.E. Department had the annual awards day for physical education. Myles received the Governor's Award for Physical Fitness this year. This means that he scored 70% or higher in the 5 activities that they were tested on. I think that the 5 areas tested were the mile run, sit ups, pull ups, sit & reach, & a shuttle run. Last year Myles received the Lt. Governor's Award, which is where you score 50%-69%. Only 4 first graders out of the whole school received the Governor's Award, and we are so proud of our little athlete!

Spring Fling/Field Day 2008

Myles' school had the annual Spring Fling/Field Day on Friday. It lasted pretty much the entire day. Myles had lots of fun and was able to spend almost the entire day hanging out with Ted. The Spring Fling consisted of lots of inflatables & some games. Myles & Ted were more excited about the inflatables than the games. Field Day consisted of the 50 yard dash, some relays & tug of war, which Myles' class won, and boy were they excited!!!

After all that jumping, we needed something to cool off with. What jumping you ask. See below...

Yeah, we were catching some serious air & had a blast doing it. (I had a lot of pictures & it was really hard to decide which ones to post!)

Best friends having too much fun!

Myles running the 50 yard dash and he won it! Check out his form!
Tug of war was a lot of hard work too!

Baseball pictures

Tuesday night we played the Sand Gnats, and the boys were able to pull off another win. Myles played pitcher for a few innings & then Coach Kevin moved some of the players around. He moved Myles to third base, & it was there that Myles made the play that is the play of the year so far. A little boy hit a line drive between short & third and he ran & caught it. Then without looking he ran straight to second base & made a double play! It was amazing. He continues to amaze Kevin and myself with his knowledge of the game & knowing what to do when without having to be told. It's plays like that that make me miss my dad so much because I know how excited and proud of Myles he would be. He would be so tickled to know what a great ball player he is becoming! Connor continues to back up first base very well. He loves it and is really good at it too! And, he is really hitting the ball very well and runs the bases really fast! A quick thanks to my friend Kelly who actually took these pictures for me!

He made it to first!

Myles hitting the ball hard too!

Look at how differently the boys slide into home plate!

Sneak peak of Grayson!

Grayson finally made his grand entrance around 2:05 in the afternoon. He weighed in at a whopping 5 pounds & 9 ounces and was 20 inches long! The boys and I went up around 3:15, but we didn't get to see him outside of the nursery because he was awaiting his bath. So after our game, which we won by the way, we made another trip to the hospital. The boys LOVE him so much already! I had shirts made for each of them that said "I'm the Big Cousin" and had their name underneath the picture. They wore them proudly today! They were really sweet with him. I was kind of shocked. It was the first time they have ever been around a newborn. Little Connor wanted to stay with Aunt Kimmie tonight & help her out! Of course, we didn't let him! I'll be posting more pics tomorrow.

We LOVE our new cousin!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!

We're so excited about the big day tomorrow. We can't wait for our nephew's big grand entrance. Here is a picture of my niece tonight with the things that she'll be taking to the hospital: baby bag, coming home outfit & car seat! She is so excited!

Update on baby Grayson

Baby Grayson, my newest nephew, is set to make his grand entrance on Tuesday (if he doesn't come tomorrow!). We have our things ready and Connor is so excited that he can hardly stand it! We'll be visiting the hospital Tuesday afternoon & before our baseball game that evening. I can see Connor now....showing Grayson his baseball cleats and all!!! Trip to the Birmingham Zoo

Wednesday afternoon the boys & I (Kevin was in Jacksonville all week long) headed up to Tuscaloosa to stay with my friend Robin's parents & head to the Birmingham Zoo on Thursday. We thought it would be a great day to go and since the schools in the area already had spring break, we thought it would be kind of empty. Boy were we ever WRONG! There were school buses everywhere! I guess Thursday was the day for field trips! We had a great time though, and were glad to spend so time with our friends. Thanks to Nana & Poppa for letting us stay the night!

Emily, Kerri Ann, Myles & Connor hanging out at Nana & Poppa's house. We were wired!!!!

This was actually the last picture that I took and so Connor was not very photogenic!!

My absolute FAVORITE picture of the day! Love, love, love this picture of Connor with the birds in the background!

Myles with the butterfly life cycle, which he learned about before spring break!

The boys with some pretty colorful birds in the background!

The kids riding a camel. They had a blast. Now that I look at the pictures, I noticed Connor wasn't a gentleman because poor Kerri Ann is behind him! We'll make sure we work with him on his manners! Of course here he is with his no fear attitude!

Me & the boys. We were on our way out so by this time and 136 pictures later, Connor wasn't very happy to see the camera! Thanks to Robin for taking our pic!

For lunch, we packed a picnic & enjoyed the nice weather!

Priceless picture: Kerri Ann reading the map to Connor! So sweet!

Monkey see...Monkey do! This was Connor while we were looking at the monkey exhibit!

The boys and the alligator! He/She was staring right at the boys & we were actually able to see him/her move from the grass & into the water. And the water, it was so nasty!

Baseball this week..1 Loss & 1 Win

We had a busy, busy week full of baseball. We had 2 games this week and won one & loss one. Our record is now 2-2. Both boys are having lots of fun and are playing great. Next up for us will be the Sand Gnats on Tuesday!

We sure are loving baseball!

Connor heading home! The coach doesn't even have to tell him to keep going--he does it automatically!

Myles getting ready to hit a big one!

Future track star..a.k.a. Connor!

Ready to play hard!

Myles making an awesome out at third! The first hitter on the Muckdogs hit it straight to Myles & he threw a brilliant throw to get him out. Their team was in shock! Because Myles is so small, most people don't realize what a great arm he has until they hit it right to him!

Random pics from the weekend

Here are a few random pics of the boys over the weekend. Most were taken at Lambert's Cafe!
This is Connor doing what he's best at: being SILLY!!! He is one hilarious little boy! Once he gets over being shy around new people, he's a riot! Here he is dancing with his eyes closed on purpose with a peach in his mouth. Silly boy!

Here's Myles being silly. He had to be like his little brother!

Here are my 2 favorite pictures of the weekend, which would describe our boys perfectly: Connor the silly one & Myles the serious one!

Here are the three boys at one of our favorite stores, The Coleman Outdoors Store. We were there for a LONG time on Saturday picking up a few camping items as well as the table and benches the boys are sitting on. We are itching to get the pop up camper out, and it looks like we might head to the Gulf in two weeks!

The next Indiana Jones'???

As you can imagine with the three boys in the house, there is a countdown for the next Indiana Jones movie going on in our house! They are getting excited. They LOVE Indiana Jones. That series is the most played movies in the van so far. All day every day kind of thing! While we were at camping store over the weekend, the boys put on some hats that made them look like Indi to us!
