Labor Day weekend we headed up to Atlanta to see the Hokies in their season opener in the Chickfila Kickoff Game. Although our team didn't win, we had a blast! We started our day very early by going to the Game Day Activities & watching the ESPN Game Day crew. It was incredible to be around so many VT fans all at once!
Here are the boys at our campsite. We camped at Stone Mountain.
The boys walking to the MARTA. We took the MARTA into Atlanta to save time & money!
The boys were excited to be on the train because they had never been on one before!
They kept looking out the window....
in amazement!
Here is the Game Day scene that we walked in to!
The boys made signs using the College Team Paints. It's the same paint that we used for their bedrooms & we were able to save these signs for the boys' bedrooms!
Connor with his sign!
Myles & his sign
Connor trying to get a good view of the Game Day crew
We met some strangers, I mean friends while we were walking the streets of Atlanta! Here is Kevin with Tim & Ted Prescott! We were excited to see them although it's quite obvious that they are cheering for the WRONG team!
We went to the Chickfila fan fest zone & Kevin & the boys were interviewed by a TV station that is from Lynchburg.
Each team had a pep rally. Alabama's team was first so since I wanted to be on the front row for VT's, we watched theirs too. They had a huge band. We were surprised that VT's rally lasted much longer than Alabama's.
Connor! Now this kid is very special & when he is sleepy, he is sleepy! He managed to sleep the entire first half of the game plus both halftime shows. I have never in my life be to any sporting event that was so LOUD!!!!!! I have no idea how he slept but he did & I had to hold him the entire time, which meant I didn't get as many pics!
So excited! I found the perfect shirts at the Gap for the game. It's hard to tell in the pics but the stripe that you see is maroon which is perfect for Tech fans!!!!
