FIELD DAY 2007
Yesterday Myles had field day at school, and it was SO much fun. The day started out with relays. There was jumping in a sack, running to get golf balls out of a pool and into a bucket, dribbling basketballs, moving water via balls, and the usually over with a ball. Myles had a blast. He was pretty tired afterwards. After the relays, we headed inside and had lunch. Hamburgers! Then we headed out for the carnival side of the day. Myles and Ted had a blast. They jumped in inflatables, pulled suckers, went down big slides, ate ice cream, did the cake walk (Myles won so he picked out cupcakes to share with his classmates), and played the ring toss (Ted won a Pepsi). By the end of the day, we were all so tired. What a great day!

Well, it finally had to happen, and it did today. We finally lost our first T-ball game today. The boys and girl were matching the other team 5 runs each inning and in the 3rd inning, one of our boys hit a pop up and the other team got a double play to end the inning before we could get our 5 runs. Myles played good. He was over running the ball at pitcher in the beginning of the game, but we finally made a couple outs towards the end. He hit the ball very well and made two awesome slides! Next up for the team is Thursday, when we play the Rivercats.

Creative Connor
The poet in Connor came out this evening at the dinner table. Here's his first poem:
Roses are pink
And your feet really stink!
Kevin and I just started laughing when we heard this. We can't wait to see what he comes up with when he's a teenager!

Sand Gnats 30 Storm 27
This past Saturday the Sand Gnats won again. Unfortunately we weren't there due to a previous engagement. We heard that the boys and girl played well. We didn't have enough players so the team had to pick up a couple kids so the league counted the game as a tie. Great job Sand Gnats. The next game will be on Saturday against the Grasshoppers.

Great Granny & Poppy
During our short trip to Virginia, we were able to stop by and visit Kevin's grandparents, who are known to the boys as great granny and poppy. Unfortunately great granny has been in the nursing home for almost three years now so we go there to visit her.
Poppy took the boys out to eat while I was at the shower. Kevin loves to hear old time stories from Poppy, who is 90! We miss them dearly and cherish the time that we get to spend with them.

Braves or bust
Tomorrow we'll be heading to Atlanta bright and early so that we can catch the Braves and Cubs game. The boys (daddy included) are so excited. They have been talking about this for weeks and are so glad that tomorrow is the big day. On Friday, we'll head from Atlanta to Kevin's parent's house in Marion, Virginia. I'm throwing my sister-in-law a baby shower on Saturday. We'll be heading home on Sunday. It's a short and sweet trip that we're looking forward to. We just want to give a quick good luck to the Sand Gnats. Unfortunately Myles will be missing his game on Saturday. Just know Sand Gnats that we're thinking of y'all:) Go Sand Gnats.

New haircuts
Both boys had a hair cut today. Connor's bangs are a little short, but they'll grow back. Here they are outside playing this afternoon.

Field trip to Partridge Plantation
Today Myles and his class went on a field trip to the farm. We had so much fun. The farm had four sections.
The first section the kids were able to ride ponies. Myles loved it. It reminded me so much of our vacation last summer out West. Myles and Ted were able to ride at the same time. They had a look of excitement when it was their turn!

The second section the kids learned about various farm animals-horses, donkeys, pigs (they even had week old piglets which were adorable), roosters, chickens, and rabbits. Myles was able to feed the chickens.
Next it was off for a hay ride. We rode around looking at pretty wildflowers and saw tons of berries that will be ready for picking soon!
The last section the kids were able to hold baby animals that included a bunny, a duck & a chick. The duck and chick were about a week and a half old. Myles held the bunny but wouldn't hold the duck or chick!
After all of the sections we had a nice picnic and the kids were able to play on a playground and shop in the gift shop! It was a fun filled day.
